What the P&C Does?

Schools have their own budgets —but invariably they need more than the budget allows. That’s where the parent committee becomes a really valuable partner.

All money raised by the P&C committee must be used for the benefit of the school. But as a member, you get to vote on how funds are used—and ultimately, that can only benefit your child too.

Why it's necessary to supplement ed department funding?

Schools have their own budgets —but invariably they need more than the budget allows. That’s where the parent committee becomes a really valuable partner.

All money raised by the P&C committee must be used for the benefit of the school. But as a member, you get to vote on how funds are used and ultimately, that can only benefit your child too.

What is WACSSO?

WACSSO represents P&Cs on decision-making committees within the Department of Education, as well as to State and Federal Members of Parliament.. For more information see https://www.wacsso.wa.edu.au/about/our-services/

Why should you be involved?

Current P&C team members are very friendly and love to see new faces join the team. The more the merrier :) Every child benefits from the P&C fundraising, so lets join hands and make our kids journey a successful one.

Donna

Secretary for the P&C

Donna worked in disability for 30 years with Rocky Bay running guest houses for people with disabilities organising holidays and other events.
Her passions are cooking sewing and giving. Donna left this career to foster her three grandchildren through the department of child protection.
Donna has been on the steering committee for WVPS and is truly passionate about this school being one of the best.
She has volunteered for Miracle Babies, Cancer council and other schools. She believes that every child needs to get as much opportunity to learn and be their best self.
With assisting the school with fund raising and community engagement this becomes possible.

Georgia

President for the P&C

Georgia is our lists and logistics lover – as a travel agent pre-covid, and now a massage therapist with her own business – she’s always got a plan on the go. She’s got a spreadsheet for just about everything, and loves a good project – whether a marketing campaign or a birthday party for her daughters!

Georgia was a part of the steering committee for WVPS, and enjoys playing an active role in the community – serving on the 7 day makeover team and networking with our local small businesses for the Mother’s Day pamphlet and donations given and yet to come.
She’s excited to build community relationships and kick off the P&C as a welcoming and approachable initiative, with an open door policy.

Chelsea

Vice-President for the P&C

Is our team’s Vice President, which is perfect for her as she’s used to wearing many hats.

In a previous life, Chelsea was a Wholesale Travel Specialist with a passion for destinations off the beaten track. With a background in textile, graphic and jewellery design, she’s passionate about all things creative and loves to think outside the box. When she’s not designing an extensive wardrobe for her children, she’s baking them elaborate cakes.
Now as a mother of three, and an Education Assistant to boot, she is dedicated to getting and giving the best for all children within our school and beyond. She believes wholeheartedly that all children should be afforded equal opportunities to excel at school, and is excited to be a part of the P&C to ensure those opportunities are made possible to each and every student.

Lubaina

Treasurer for the P&C

While she has no formal education in accounting, Electronics and Communications engineering gives her an edge in understanding what software is best for the work at hand. Even with her hands always full running after twin boys and work, she is proud that she carves out time for things that she believes in i.e. giving back to the community. She is equally proud of her integrity, her dedication towards following rules, her time-management skills and her ability to pay attention to fine details. Lubaina strongly believes that she is a great choice because of her good interpersonal skills and how she can walk in other people’s shoes with ease. She works in the telecommunications sector and has volunteered her time in lot of activities, most recently “teaching coding to young kids”. She is a music lover and loves photography. She genuinely is interested in others and love to know more about them. Her favorite parts of work is learning about how new technologies work and teaching others about them. On a freelance basis, She consults with business owners and other professionals about web design/web development, computer repair, and other IT issues.

Fundraising goals and progress

11th May 2023
P&C had great fun organising our first ever Mother’s Day raffle. Our mission of creating a connected and inclusive community was well established. We love that this raffle enabled our school to connect to the Wellard Village business community, and we thank them for all of their donations. It was also fabulous as all students had an ability to enter, through a colouring competition.

15th June 2023
It was a successfull DAY at the Cross Country/Bake sale event. We had our professional bakers, amateur bakers, stall holders, staff, Meher from Espresso On The Go, cinnamon bun collectors, and EVERY SINGLE CUSTOMER who bought and supported your school’s P&C yesterday – you’ve all contributed to the support and growth of WVPS 🧡💛We learned a lot in reflection on the day about what worked well and what we should change for next time. Please email us on wellardvillagepandc@gmail.com. We would love to hear your thoughts and suggestions.
